An AI agent for ski resorts, built on your own answers
An AI agent for a ski resort answers guests' repeated questions (which lifts are running, hours, parking, tickets and passes, blackout dates, rentals, ski school, weather and closure policies) from the resort's own published information and, where it is connected, the resort's own lift and snow status, at any hour, by text messages (SMS), WhatsApp, your website and email. It sends guests to your ticket store and rental pages, never makes up conditions, and hands groups, refunds and complaints to a person with the conversation attached.

Morning! Is Lift 7 running yet? And our 7‑year‑old needs skis. Should we book ahead?
- AI agent
Hi, I'm the resort's AI agent. Lift status at 7:05 am: Lift 7 is on hold for wind, and the base lifts are open. Kids' skis can be booked on the rentals page; on weekends the resort asks for a day's notice.
- Guest
Thanks! Also, my company wants lessons for 20 people in January. Who do I talk to?
- AI agent
The ski school plans groups that size, so I've passed this on with our conversation: 20 people, January. They'll reply today.
Resorts whose guest services answer the same questions every morning
Ski areas where guest services, the ticket office and the ski school answer the phone, the inbox, social messages and the website while the mountain runs. The questions are rarely hard. They are constant, and they peak on exactly the days the team is busiest.
Independent and regional ski areas
A small guest-services team, a snow report phone line and an inbox that fills up every time the weather turns.
Destination resorts
Lodging, rentals, a ski and ride school and kids' programs: more products, more booking windows, more policies to quote the same way every time.
Resorts with international guests
Guests who write in Spanish or another language, from a phone number outside the US. The agent answers in the language they write in.
NoteNot a ticketing system. It works alongside the ticketing and resort management system you already use, and sends guests to your own store.
The questions arrive in bursts, on the days you have least time
Holiday weekends, the morning after a storm, the first cold snap that sends guests looking for chains. Lift hours move with the weather too: Keystone's hours page says on-mountain lifts vary with weather conditions and patrol work (Keystone, hours of operation, Winter 2026-27, read 15 October 2026).

Sep 1to May 31 · CDOT
Colorado's Traction Law is in force every year from 1 September to 31 May on the I-70 mountain corridor between Dotsero and Morrison, and tires need at least 3/16-inch tread. Every storm brings the same question about rental cars and chains. The agent links CDOT's own page and repeats the rule only as CDOT states it.

CDOT calls Presidents Day weekend one of the busiest mountain-travel holidays in Colorado. A week later, after days of heavy snowfall, it warned of heavy traffic and long delays on I-70, worst on the Saturday morning. Those are the mornings when guests ask about roads, parking and which lifts are open, all at once.

BlackoutsEpic · Ikon · 2026-27
The entry-level multi-resort passes block the peak days. For 2026-27 the Epic Local Pass excludes 27 to 28 November and 26 to 31 December 2026, 16 January and 13 to 14 February 2027; the Ikon Base Pass blacks out 26 to 30 December 2026, 16 to 17 January and 13 to 14 February 2027. Each one brings guests asking whether their pass works that day.

6 amA-Basin · 2024-25
At Arapahoe Basin, weekend and holiday parking in 2024-25 needed a reservation for each vehicle from 6 am to 1 pm, and carpools of four or more parked free but still had to reserve. Rules like these change from season to season, so the agent reads the current season's rules from your own page.

From buying a ticket to the lost gloves, one thread
Resorts' FAQ and help pages answer the same things again and again: lift hours and status, the snow report, roads and parking, tickets, passes and blackout dates, rentals, lessons and kids' programs, weather and refund policies, and lost and found. Here is where each question comes up, what the agent does, and when it hands the conversation to your team.
| Moment | Guest asks | Agent does | Hands to your team when |
|---|---|---|---|
| No. 03 · 1Planning the trip | Does my pass work over New Year's? And is it cheaper to buy tickets ahead? | Quotes your pass's blackout dates and your ticket pricing rules as you publish them, and links your ticket store. | A pass account problem, a charge the guest disputes or anything to do with a refund. |
| No. 03 · 2Rentals and ski school | Our 7-year-old needs skis and a lesson. Do we have to book ahead? | Sends your rental and ski school pages with your own booking windows and what kids' programs include. For a group, it collects the dates, the size and the levels, and passes them on. | Groups, private lessons with special requests and adaptive programs: to the ski school, with the conversation attached. |
| No. 03 · 3Getting there | Do I need chains on I-70 tomorrow? And do I need a parking reservation on Saturday? | Points to the official road source (CDOT and its traveler information, or 511 where you are) and gives this season's parking rules from your page. It never judges whether a car or a road is safe. | An accessible parking request you have not written down, or a guest who is lost on the way. |
| No. 03 · 4The morning of | It's really windy. Is the gondola running? How much new snow? | If it is connected to your lift and snow status, it gives the status with the time it was last updated. If not, it links your lift status page and snow report. It never guesses and never promises an opening. | An injury, a lost child or anything urgent: it gives the number you choose, at once. |
| No. 03 · 5A change of plans | The upper mountain never opened. Can I get a refund or move my ticket? | Quotes your ticket terms and weather policy exactly as you wrote them, and explains how to change a date where your terms allow it. | A refund request, an exception or an unhappy guest: a person decides. |
| No. 03 · 6After the day | I left my gloves in the lodge. And how do I renew my season pass? | Explains your lost and found process, sends the renewal page, and asks for a review where you choose. | Anything that sounds like a complaint goes to a manager first. |
The questions are drawn from the public FAQ, help and ticket pages of 13 ski resorts in Colorado and Spain, read on 15 October 2026. The answers in your agent come from yours.
Your FAQ, your live status, your systems
It is the same AI agent we build for WhatsApp, set up on the channels your guests use and fed only from sources you control.
- 01
Your FAQ and policies. Hours, parking, tickets, passes, rentals, lessons, kids' programs, weather and refund policies: written once, answered the same way every time. If something is not written down, it says it will check with the team instead of guessing.
- 02
Your live status, from your own system. Lift status and the snow report come from your own status system or the feed behind your website, quoted with the time of the last update. Not from aggregator feeds: one large provider's documentation says its resort snow reports update about once a day and can be outdated (OnTheSnow partner API, read 15 October 2026). Weather comes from the National Weather Service; for roads it points to the official source.
- 03
Your ticketing system, where it allows it. Some ski ticketing systems document APIs: RTP|One describes REST APIs, and accesso Siriusware documents an API its clients can use for their own applications. Others list integrations. Where yours offers one, we scope with you what the agent may read. Where it does not, the agent sends guests to your store and passes requests to your team. We have no partnership with any ticketing vendor and have not built a ski ticketing integration yet, so we do not claim one.
- 04
Your channels. Text messages (SMS), WhatsApp, your website and email, whichever your guests already use, with one set of answers behind all of them.
- 05
Your team decides. Groups, refunds, complaints, injuries and anything unusual go to the people and the hours you choose, with the conversation attached. You own the FAQ, the documents and the prompts, and your team can change an answer mid-season without us.
What it will not do. It knows when to call guest services.
- ×Guess conditions or promise openings. No lift, snow, road or weather status without a live source from you, and never a promised opening day or time.
- ×Promise refunds or bend your policies. It quotes your ticket terms as written. Refunds, credits and exceptions are a person's call.
- ×Handle complaints alone. An unhappy guest goes to a person, with everything they have already said.
- ×Sell tickets or change orders on its own. Not unless your system allows it and you have agreed exactly what it may do there.
- ×Give road, avalanche or safety advice. It points to the official source and to your own published text, and nothing more.
- ×Pretend to be human. It tells guests it is an AI agent, and anyone who asks for a person gets one.
Each channel has its own rules. We set them up with you.
Replying to a guest who texted first is the simplest case. Reminders need the guest's express consent, promotions their express written consent, and STOP and HELP always work. US carriers require a local business number used for texting to be registered (10DLC) through your messaging provider, and The Campaign Registry says campaign review, done by the providers in the chain rather than by TCR itself, can take one to four weeks (TCR, August 2025).
Guests on an iPhone or iPad start the conversation from your website, app or Apple Maps. Apple requires automated answers to be backed by live human agents, so your team stays in the loop (Apple Messages for Business FAQ, July 2026).
Useful for international guests. Since 1 October 2026 Meta charges service replies after 1,000 free per business number per month (Meta, pricing), and it does not currently deliver marketing templates to US phone numbers (Meta, per-user limits).
The chat on your website and replies to your guest-services inbox, from the same answers. We recommend the agent always says it is an AI, on every channel. This is a summary, not legal advice: check the details with your own counsel.
Our guide to texting ski resort guests covers each of these in more detail: the consent that replies, reminders and promotions need, STOP and HELP, 10DLC registration, Apple Messages, WhatsApp and when to say the agent is an AI.
Live at Fixlab: a vehicle certification lab, not a resort, with the same pattern.
We have no ski resort case to show yet, so here is the agent we run in production. Fixlab is a different industry with the same pattern: many customers who are not experts, asking the same procedural questions at all hours, and a team whose time is better spent on the cases that need judgment. The agent answers from Fixlab's own rules, collects what each case needs and hands over to a person with the full conversation.

From your FAQ to live answers, before opening day
- Your FAQ, policies and systems
Hours, parking, tickets, rentals, lessons, your weather and refund policies, where your lift status lives, and the questions guests really ask by phone and email. We write the knowledge base with you.
- An acceptance test
A written set of real guest questions, including storm-day and refund questions, with a pass bar agreed before anything goes live.
- A test run
Your team writes in as guests on a test line, and we tune until it clears the test.
- Live on your channels
It starts answering guests once it passes. Hand-off goes to the people and the hours you choose.
- Tuning
We read the first weeks of conversations with you and adjust wherever guests surprised us.
Start well before the season: carrier registration for text messages alone can take weeks, and the test needs real questions from your team. It is priced per project, from what the agent is allowed to do, how many channels it covers and which of your systems it reads. After a short call you get a written proposal with the price and the assumptions behind it, including the running costs of the channels you choose. What decides the cost of an AI assistant explains the drivers.
